Saudi factory fined for violating waste disposal rules

The Environmental Protection and Development Authority (EPDA) has issue a fine on a cement factory at Ras Khwair in Ras Al Khaimah, Saudi Arabia for violating the procedures and rules governing the disposal of waste.

“The authority has ordered the factory to clear the waste and repair the damage as well as bearing the ensuing costs, as per the Federal Law No. 24 of 1999 on the Protection and Development of Environment,” a statement issued by EPDA said.

Dr Saif Al Ghais, CEO of the authority, called on factories and establishments in the emirate to abide by the rules to preserve safety of the environment to achieve the strategy of the Government of Ras Al Khaimah in providing a healthy and suitable environment for the residents.
