Cement plants across Vietnam with a combined production capacity of 100Mt in 2015 are likely to consume 9bnkWh of electricity, said the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The power demand will be lift to 11.7bnkWh in 2020, the ministry attributed without giving details on both the number of the cement mills and their total capacity.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is calling on cement mills to be self-sufficient of at least 20% of electricity consumed from now through 2015.
