Total shipments of Portland and blended cement in the United States and Puerto Rico for April 2011 were 5.7Mt which was nearly 14% lower than shipments in April 2010. Shipments for the year through April were about 18.3Mt, about 2% lower than those of the same period in 2010. The leading producing states in April were Texas, California, Missouri, Florida, and Alabama, in descending order. The leading consuming states (Texas, California, Florida, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania, in descending order) received about 39% of the April total shipments.

Clinker production totalled 5.1Mt in April, about 2% lower than the output in April 2010. Production for the year through April was 16.9Mt, slightly lower than that for the same  period in 2010. The leading clinker-producing states in April were Texas, California, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina, in descending order.
