HeidelbergCement plans to start production at a EUR200m cement plant in Kazakhstan in 2013, the Central Asian nation’s Industry Ministry said.

The plant will produce 1Mta of cement, board member Andreas Kern told Deputy Prime Minister Aset Isekeshev during a meeting today, the Astana-based ministry said.

Located in the western region of Mangistau, the plant may double capacity in the future, it added.
