Recent preliminary industry and market estimates from the Brazilian cement sector show that sales for the first five months of 2011 (January-May) reached 24.6Mt, up 7.1 per cent in the same period of last year.

In May 2011 alone, sales reached 5.4Mt – 10.9% up on the same month of 2010.

For the 12 months between June 2010 and May 2011, sales reached 60.8Mt, 11.2 per cent up on a like-for-like basis (June 2009-May 2011).
