Ulyanovskcement receives green certificate, Russia

Products of CJSC Ulyanovskcement, part of the Eurocement group, have been recognised to be in compliance with standard EcoMaterial 1.2. Environmentally Friendly Construction materials.

EcoStandard group representatives conducted an ecological audit of the plant the results of which showed that CJSC Ulyanovskcementwere products were  in compliance with EcoMaterial 1.2. Environmentally Friendly Construction materials standards and in May 2011 the producer was awarded a certificate recognising this achievement.

The company was the first national cement company, which successfully took part in the voluntary system of ecological certification for compliance with a standard EcoMaterial 1.2. The audit of 14 enterprises of the holding was conducted by EcoStandard group, which is the first organisation in the Russian Federation accredited by the international community for green building.

During the audit at the plant, representatives of the official auditor of the project met Sergey Kravchenko, Engineer for Environmental Protection, to examine finished products for compliance with the standard. They also comprehensively studied the provided complete information concerning raw and finished materials and packaging used.
