Vietnam Ministry proposes to raise cement export duties

The Tax Policy Department under the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance has proposed to raise export duties for cement and steel in an effort to regulate business profits, driven by the low prices of inputs.

The ministry has proposed imposing a 5.3% tax on cement, and 5% on clinker. The ministry has proposed raising the tax to 1.3%-2% for construction steel, the Thoi bao kinh te newspaper reported Tuesda
