Lafarge has announced a share capital increase reserved for the eligible employees of companies participating in the Lafarge Group Savings Plan. This transaction, which is in line with the Group employees’ shareholding development policy, will encompass 63 countries.

The subscription price for the shares has been fixed at EUR36.98. A maximum number of 5 million shares with a par value of EUR4 will be issued as a result of the share capital increase. The subscription period will take place from June 1 until June 21, 2011, included. The settlement-delivery of the shares is expected to occur on July, 29 2011.

The new shares will carry entitlement to dividend as of January 1, 2011 and will be assimilated to the existing shares. The admission to trading of these shares on NYSE Euronext Paris SA market, on the same listing line as the existing shares, will be requested immediately after their issuance.

The shares subscribed by the employees will be blocked until July 28, 2016 (included), except occurrence of an early unblocking event.
