18 May 2011

During the first four months of 2011, Polish cement producers sold 4.3Mt – up 33 per cent over the same period last year, Puls Biznesu reports. In April alone, sales were up 17.4 per cent with 1.7Mt sold.

According to Jan Deja, director of the Polish Cement Association (SPC), if there is no early onset of winter this year, sales could rise by an impressive 10 per cent to a total of 17Mt.

The Institute for Market Economics predicts that growth will continue until at least 2015.
