Cemex announced that its California-based truck fleet was recently awarded the 2011 Fleet Safety Award from the California Trucking Association (CTA). Through this award, the CTA recognizes Cemex USA as the safest bulk pneumatic carrier in the State of California. The fleet, comprised of 18 tractor trailer trucks and their skilled drivers, logged over 1.5 million miles without a reportable incident.

“At Cemex, safety is a top priority, and this achievement was made possible by our fleet team’s ongoing commitment to safety and dedication to excellence.”

The fleet regularly transports bulk cement, fly ash and gypsum and is managed from Cemex USA’s operations in Victorville, CA. The fleet has passed all inspections carried out by the California Highway Patrol over the past four years.

“Cemex is honoured to be recognized as one of California’s safest carriers,” said Karl Watson, Jr., President of Cemex USA. “At Cemex, safety is a top priority, and this achievement was made possible by our fleet team’s ongoing commitment to safety and dedication to excellence.”
