The Orissa government has signed an Memorandum of Understanding with Shiva Cement Limited for the capacity expansion of its cement plant and split grinding unit.

Shiva Cement, which operates a cement plant at Kutra in Sundargarh districit, plans to expand its capacity from 0.132Mta to 1Mta and increase capacity of the split grinding unit near Jajpur from 1Mta to 2.6Mta.

The MoU was signed between T Ramachandru, principal secretary (industries), Orissa government and Bimal Kumar Mangaraj, director, Shiva Cement in the presence of minister for industries and steel & mines, Raghunath Mohanty on Wednesday.
