Votorantim announces start of plants in Santa Catarina
Brazilian cement major, Votorantim Cimentos, has announced the start-up of two new units in the cities of Vidal Ramos and and Florianopolis in Santa Catarina state.
The new factories are planned to be operational by end-May and have the capacity to produce 1.9Mta.
Currently the company also has another unit in Santa Catarina state, in the city of Itajai which produces 0.5Mta. With the establishment of the two new factories, the company’s capacity in the state will more than quadruple to 2.4Mta.
