Spanish cement consumption in the first quarter reached 5.2Mt, representing a 2.18% increase compared with the same period last year. On a monthly basis, March 2011 consumption was down 6.4% to 1.99Mt.

The upward trajectory of exports has been maintained, up 33.62% in the last 12 months to 3.92Mt. Imports continued their decline as they fell 35.7% during the same period to 1.75Mt.
