Matsiloje Portland Cement (MPC) has been awarded BOS ENV 197-1:1992, a certificate of quality, by the Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS).

BOBS handed the certificate to MPC at the company’s factory in Matsiloje Village last Friday. Speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director of BOBS, Masego Marobela, said BOBS felt honoured that MPC had chosen it for certification instead of going out of the country.  "We are not only privileged to welcome MPC into our family of licensed organisations, but also privileged to be Matsiloje Portland Cement’s preferred certifying body," Marobela said. "That adds positively to our eminence in this competitive business of certification."

She said that hence forward, MPC would be able to mark its products with the BOBS mark. "As a standards mark licensed organisation, Matsiloje Portland Cement will have the privilege to mark its certified products with the standards mark, as well as to use the mark for publicity and advertising as indicated in the BOBS standards mark scheme."
