Pakistan’s DG Khan Cement receives FLSmidth Award

Pakistan’s D.G. Khan Cement Company Limited (DGKCC), has received outstanding achievement award from the Board of Management of FLSmidth A/s, Denmark, on new global records by achieving clinker production of over 2.281Mt, kiln utilisation of 104% and plant operational days of 346.5 respectively during financial year 2009-10 (July-June), at its Khairpur Plant in Sindh Province of Pakistan
.

In recognition of outperforming the world standard run-factor criterion for rotary kilns of 330 days per year, the award was presented to Raza Mansha Chief Executive of DG Khan Cement, by the Ambassador of Denmark, HE Uffe Wolffhechel and FLSmidth Vice President Kristian A. Gregersen in Lahore.

Mr. Raza Mansha, said on the occasion that his team had invested much efforts in Research and Development to increase productivity and achieve customer satisfaction in the wide market zones of north and south of Pakistan. He emphasized the need to work jointly for reducing the cost of production through new technologies and by using alternative fuels. He highlighted in particular the contributions of DG Khan Cement to control pollution by incorporating latest environment friendly technologies and their role to uplift the socio economic status of populations living both in DG Khan and Chakwal Districts.
