Preliminary industry data posted by Sindicato Nacional da Industria do Cimento (SNIC) show that domestic sales in the Brazilian market for February 2011 were 4.7Mt, a YoY rise of 14 per cent. For the first two months of 2011, demand reached 9.4Mt, up 10.3 per cent on the same period of 2010.

For the 12 months between March 2010 and February 2011, total sales were 59.9Mt, again representing a YoY increase of 14.2 per cent compared to March 2009-February 2010.
