Siam Cement’s consolidated net profit jumped 54 per cent to THB37.38bn (US$1.2bn) last year mainly on higher earnings from its chemical and paper businesses and its investments.

SCC’s paper business posted an 80 per cent surge in net profit, while the chemical business’ net increased 53 per cent. Its investment operation enjoyed a 57 per cent rise in net profit.

SCC’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) declined two per cent to THB46.95bn last year because of lower margins of its chemical business, while its net sales rose 26 per cent to THB301.32bn for the same period.
