Australia’s Sunstate Cement Ltd. has sufficient supplies to meet demand after the Brisbane flooding disaster, a person familiar with the situation said Friday.

"Our plant at Fisherman Island has had some access issues but that plant is still open," said a person familiar with the situation. "It’s operating and as far as I’ve heard the raw material (clinker stock) is fine. There is some raw material we hope to get in over the next few days depending on access. Of course, as the Port remains shut there will be delays in terms of stocks."

The Port of Brisbane has been shut since late Tuesday evening, local time, when floods hit and will not reopen until Sunday at the earliest.

Sunstate Cement is jointly owned by Australia’s largest cement manufacturers Adelaide Brighton Cement Ltd. and Blue Circle Southern Cement, a division of Boral Ltd.
