Pakistan December data – APCMA

According to monthly analysis by the All Pakistan cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), the country’s 29 cement manufacturers and exporters recorded total cement dispatches of 2.493Mt December 2010 (FY 2010-11) compared to 2.677Mt in December 2009. This represents a fall of 6.87 per cent in overall dispatches on a YoY basis. However, if compared with November 2010 data of 2.416Mt, minor growth of 3.19 per cent was recorded. 



The breakdown showed that total local dispatches stood at 1.785Mt in December 2010 compared to 1.883Mt in December 2009, down 5.21 per cent. This includes dispatches to the north of 1.48Mt and to the south of 306,309t compared to 1.64Mt and 243,302t in December 2009, respectively.

Out of December’s total dispatches, Pakistan exported 708,306t of cement compared to 793,852t in December 2009, recording a fall of 10.78 per cent.

The breakdown showed that Pakistan exported 372,751t to Afghanistan, 31,924t to India and 299,604t to other countries compared to 245,669t, 61,492t and 486,691t to other countries in December 2009 respectively. Total exports between July and December 2010 stood at 4.63Mt compared to 5.58Mt in corresponding period last year – a fall of 17.03 per cent.
 


So far
(July-December), Pakistan has exported 2.264Mt of cement to Afghanistan (recording a growth of 22.8 per cent), 214,950t to India (down 36.53 per cent) and 2.079Mt to other countries (a fall of 34.69 per cent). It also exported 70,551t of clinker to number of countries (down 66.9 per cent).
