Khoy cement factory in West Azarbaijan province, Iran has entered into full service on 1st January 2011. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Industries and Mines Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian attended the inauguration ceremony, the Mehr News Agency reported.

The unit has been established at the cost of some US$175m and has the capacity to produce one million tons of grey cement annually. Khoy cement factory has also created 470 direct and 5000 indirect job opportunities.  The unit started its trial production in August 2010and has produced over 388,000t of cement so far.
