Azerbaijan produced 1.074Mt of cement in January-October 2010. This is a decrease of 3.4 per cent over January-October 2009.  In 2009, cement output in Azerbaijan totalled 1.28Mt, decreasing by 19.7 per cent over 2008. Garadagh Cement, a Holcim subsidiary, is the main producer of cement in Azerbaijan. Its production capacities cater for up to 1.4Mta of cement a year . The remainder of national demand is covered through imports.

In 2007, cement production in Azerbaijan totalled a record 1.778Mt. The Azerbaijani government is currently reviewing the construction of new cement plants, while Holcim is now engaged on building a new production line.
