Cimpor has opened its biggest cement factory Wednesday in China doubling its production capacity in the country, the group said in a stamen issued in Lisbon.

Cimpor Zaozhuang has a cement production capacity of 2Mta, the statement said.

The factory, the group’s second in China after the one in Shandong, is located in Zaozhuang.

Cimpor entered the Chinese market in May, 2007, with the acquisition of 60 per cent of Chinese company Shandong Liuyuan, and currently has two integrated cement production factories, in Shandong and Zaozhuang, a clinker factory in Liyang, and two clinker mills in Huaian and Suzhou.
