The major increase of 52 per cent was followed by local dispatches that improved by 44 per cent to 1.97Mt as compared to 1.37Mt in September.

However, when compared to the same period last year – total dispatches were lower by 4 percent to 2.9Mt than 3Mt sold in October’ 09. While a 16 per cent decline was seen in exports with local offtake improving by three per cent. The cumulative dispatches for 4MFY11 stood lower by 11 per cent to 10.12Mt compared with 11.42Mt in the same period last year.
