The Pakistan government released official export data regarding cement deliveries from the country to Afghanistan, India and African markets during the first three months (Jul-Sep) of the current FY2010-11.

According to the information, Pakistan exported 2.435Mt of cement at US$109.515m during the period, compared to 2.484Mt at US$124.133m in the equivalent period one year ago. Exports recorded a drop of 1.99% and 11.78% in terms of quantity and dollar value, respectively, according to data released by Federal Bureau of Statistics, Government of Pakistan.

Considering exports in the month of September 2010 alone, tonnage fell MoM by 22.29% from 944,802t in August to 734,250t while in terms of dollar values, the decline was less pronounced. September deliveries fetched a value of US$43.73m, just over 7% down from the US$35.219m recorded the previous month. On a YoY basis, the export of cement registered a volume fall of 0.53% from 738,145t while the value contracted by nearly 13% from 37.65m in September 2009.
