With rising cement prices in Tamil Nadu, a group of builders are importing cement from Pakistan.
’A group of builders have imported cement from Pakistan via Kochi port in Kerala,’ Prakash Challa, vice president of Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India, told reporters Tuesday.

He said the first consignment of 20 containers with 20 tonnes of cement each has arrived at Kochi port.
’The cost works out to around Rs.190, which is much cheaper than Rs.300 charged by local manufacturers,’ he said.
