Ambuja Cements Ltd (ACL) is missing its monthly dispatch target from its Chandrapur plant due to unavailability of wagons and trucks for transportation.

The plant, which has a capacity of 3.6Mta, is missing its dispatch target by around 30,000t per month due to shortage of transportation, especially because most of the trucks and wagons are availed by power and steel sector companies.

"In fact, the scenario is same for almost all cement manufacturing units in the state which are losing their despatch target," said RK Saini, senior manager, packaging operations, Chandrapur plant, which is also called as the Maratha Cement Plant.

The plant is the biggest single location cement plant among all cement plants of ACL in the country.
