Can Tho-Hau Giang Cement One-Member Limited Company, an affiliate of the Can Tho Mineral and Cement Joint Stock Company, started construction of a cement plant in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang, according to the Vietnam News Brief Service.

The new plant, located in the Chau Thanh district represents a total investment of VND320bn (US$16.42m) and once completed, will add 0.7Mta of cement capacity to the country’s production base.

Once the plant is commissioned, scheduled for late November 2011, its output will be delivered to customers across the Mekong Delta region.
