Strike affects Cimangola production

Hundreds of workers completed a strike period on Monday at the Nova Cimangola works to demand better wages and the end of unwarranted dismissals.

 The strike comes at a time when the company increased its production to 1.2Mt of Portland cement.

The factory built in 1957 is constituted by shareholders with 49 per cent Ciminvest, Cimangola 40% and the African Investment Bank (BAI) 9.5%.
