Shipments of cement in the Peruvian market totaled 5.16Mt between January and August 2010, ie 15.99 per cent increase over the figure recorded in the same period of 2009, when totaled 4.45Mt, according to a recent report by tge Association of Cement Producers (ASOCEM).


During that period cement production was 5.29Mt, representing an increase of 17.20 per cent from 2009, when it stood at 4.51Mt.


In the first eight months of this year exported only 1.2Mt of cement, while in the same period last year exports were 926,000t, which implies a growth of 29.61 per cent this year.
