Holcim Hungaria planned to increase capacity at the quarry by threefold to 1.8m tons per year in order to provide the raw material necessary to expand the company’s nearby cement plant.
Holcim Hungaria officials told MTI on Wednesday that the company was still contemplating its next steps with regard to the proposed expansion of the cement plant in Nyergesujfalu, located along the Danube River in northern Hungary, following the decision to revoke the quarry-expansion permit.
