First cargo of cement exported to Iraq by railroad

The first cargo of cement from Arvand Free ZoneArvand Free Zone of Khuzestan province was exported by Khorramshahr-Shalamche railroad to Iraq. Managing Director of the Free Zone Aliasghar Parhizgar told IRNA on Tuesday evening that using railroad in border area would be the least expensive way of transporting goods. 

He said that at the first phase, around 570 tons of cement was transferred to Shalamche border point and then exported to Iraq, Zawaya news reported.

The official expressed hope that by using railroad in this route, the level of Iran’s export to Iraq will increase noticeably. Published under Cement News
