New grinding plant to be established in Ghana
Western Diamond Cement Ltd is preparing to erect a grinding plant with 1 million tons cement capacity in Takoradi, Ghana. Diamond Cement Ltd, Ghana is among the core investors. The factory is expected to be operational during 2012.
The location of the plant facilitates easy access to the main markets in Western Region and all basic infrastructures are available. Due to the development within the oil sector, the general cement market expects to grow rapidly in the years to come. For the country and the region, it will be favourable to have competition among the cement operators to keep prices on an acceptable level.
All the sponsors in the project have long operational cement experience in Africa, notably in West Africa and Ghana itself, and have sufficient financial capacity to pursue this project.
