China based company to set up cement factory in Fiji soon
Fiji Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said a China based company will definitely set up a cement factory in Fiji soon. Speaking to Fijivillage News from China, Commodore Bainimarama said he has already visited the company’s operations in China and the new company will force cement prices to go down in Fiji.
Commodore Bainimarama said the government needs to think about majority of the people in the country and having monopolies is not the answer as lack of competition will only result in prices to be dictated by a few. He said shareholders getting returns from company investment is one issue but the whole picture needs to be looked at. Published under Cement News
