Pakistan cement exports registered a decline of 0.89 per cent during the last fiscal year 2009/10, while  local sales grew by 14.63 per cent, according to the data released on Wednesday.



The industry recorded 9.30 per cent growth during the financial year ended in June. However, the sliding trend in cement exports persisted from the start of 2010/11 and registered a decline of 31.58 per cent in July.

The country had exported only 774,502t cement over 1,131,997t during the corresponding period last year, it said.

Domestic consumption of cement remained almost the same during the first month of the current financial year as 749,313t cement was supplied against 755,679t during the corresponding period last year.
