Brazil approves Votorantim takeover of Cimpor
CADE an agency of the Ministry of Justice, decided to approve Wednesday the acquisition Cimpor’s assets in the region of Capivari Low in the state of Santa Catarina, by Supermix, a Votorantim company. The purchase was made on 1 August 2008. The approval of the purchase counters views by the Secretariat of Economic Monitoring (SEAE), the Ministry of Finance and the Secretariat of Economic Law (SDE), the Ministry of Justice Both agencies warning of a loss of competition between the companies.
