19 July 2010

Technology and equipment contracts to build the Do Luong Cement Plant in the central province of Nghe An were signed in Hanoi on July 13 between the Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation (Lilama) and two contractors from China and Germany.

The Tianjin Cement Industry Design and Research Institute (TCDRI) will provide technology and equipment services worth US$19.4 million, including technology design, test services, training for technology transfer and equipment for heat exchange towers and the kiln system.

Holding 75 per cent of China’s market share, TCDRI is the country’s foremost contractor in design and equipment supply for cement plants. It has participated in the construction of several cement plants in Vietnam such as Phuc Son, Song Thao and Tay Ninh.

The second bidding package worth EUR8.7m (US$11.2m) will be carried out by Loesche GmbH, a Germany pioneer and pacemaker in roller grinding mill technology.

Loesche GmbH has provided grinding machines for a number of cement plants in Vietnam, including Nghi Son, Cong Thanh, Cam Pha, But Son 1 and 2 and Binh Phuoc.
