FLSmidth has confirmed it has been awarded a contract worth approximately USD$44m from Brazilian Votorantim Cimentos for the supply of five processing lines for five different cement plants in Brazil as part of Votorantim’s ongoing modernisation of its production facilities.

The contract includes delivery of equipment for three 3000tpd  lines and two 5000tpd lines as well as related engineering and commissioning support. The scope of supply for each of the three 3000tpd lines includes a three-support kiln 4.15m (diameter) x 64m, a Cross-BarTM cooler and a five-stage ILC preheater. Similarly, the two 5000tpd lines each include a three-support kiln 4.75m (diameter) x 74m, a Cross-Bar cooler and a five-stage ILC preheater.

"FLSmidth has a strong local presence in Brazil and a long relationship with Votorantim who is among the ten largest cement producers in the world. The recent growth in demand for cement in Brazil has made the country the world’s fifth largest consumer of concrete with FIFA World Cup in 2014 and Olympic Games in 2016 to further boost cement consumption," Group CEO Jørgen Huno Rasmussen comments.
