Vietnam: cement output touches 4.41Mt in June

Statistics from the Ministry of Construction showed that the cement producers in June 2010 have reached an output of 4.41Mt, raising the accumulative production volume in the first half of the year to 24.92Mt, fulfilling 49.8 per cent of the year plan.

Meanwhile, the country’s total cement consumption volume in June achieved 4.32Mt, while the 1H progressive volume was 24.49Mt, equal to 49 pe rcent of the year plan. The cement price stayed at stable level, in general.

This year, ministry of construction estimated the total demand for cement nationwide of 50-51.5Mt, up 11 per cent against that of 2009.

The ministry also guided and set production targets for the cement producers including Vietnam Cement Industry Corp of 18-18.5Mt, joint ventures of 15-15.5Mt and local cement plants of 17-17.5Mt.
