Mbeya cement concludes safety activities, Tanzania
Mbeya Cement Company has concluded safety month activities in Mbeya with community outreach activities.
This year’s health and safety month which had a theme of taking pride in ’Housekeeping’ included various cleanliness activities around the company and surrounding areas on Wednesday.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mbeya Cement General Manager Mbuvi Ngunze, said that the company’s first priority is safety and the month of June was the chosen safety and health month for the
Lafarge Group which Mbeya Cement is part of.
"Healthy and safety are core values that are incorporated into all aspects of our business. When it comes to safety Mbeya Cement’s belief is that the only acceptable number is zero accidents, incidents or occupational illnesses. This year’s theme of housekeeping is geared towards keeping surroundings clean and therefore safe. This begins with an office desk to outside the environment of our company," explained Ngunze.
The safety month included various housekeeping campaigns in different areas of the Mbeya cement plant including the kiln and mills, administration and operations blocks, maintenance and garage sections, packing plant, trucks parking yard and other areas of the plant. Published under Cement News
