Nigeria: Dangote’ Obanjana facility praised by Minister
29 June 2010

Minister of Mines & Steel Development, Architect Musa Muhammed Sada, has commended the president and chief executive officer of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote for his vision and courage in building the Obajana cement factory in Kogi State.

Sada made the commendation weekend while on a visit to the multi-dollar plant to assess the extent of operations at the plant’s mines. A visibly impressed Sada could not hide his satisfaction with what he saw on ground.

The minister expressed his pleasure that a Nigerian industrialist has taken it upon himself to exploit, on such a large-scale, the vast deposits of limestone which can be found across Nigeria.

Besides Obajana, the Dangote Cement Company also runs a cement plant in Gboko, Benue State. A new one at Ibeshe, Ogun State will be completed next year.

Sada noted that apart from the fact that the plant runs on a modern technology, it also complies with environmental laws. He called on other Nigerian industrialists to emulate the patriotic contributions of Aliko Dangote in moving the nation’s economy forward.
