Romania’s 1Q cement output drops 30% YoY

Romania’s cement production dropped 29.9% in the first quarter, at 704,000t, from 1Mt in the same period a year ago, according to the cement companies’ association CIROM.

Moreover, the local cement sales saw a 37% decline on the year in January to March, from 1.08Mt to 682,300t.

Romania did not export any cement or clinker in the first quarters of 2010 and 2009.

On the other hand, the imports of cement and clinker totalled 20,500t in January and February.
