May YoY cement sales in Germany slightly up
The German cement industry registered 2.22Mt of domestic cement sales in May 2010 – up 0.5 per cent from 2.14Mt in May 2009.
From January 2010 to May 2010 the industry recorded 7.66Mt of domestic cement shipments, whereas over the same period in 2009 cement shipments amounted to 8.22Mt. While the month of May was better than a year ago, the overall cement sales for the period from January to May are still down on last year’s figures by some 6.29 per cent.
