Asia Cement to construct new lines, China
16 June 2010

Asia Cement Corp., a major cement producer in Taiwan, is budgeting US$123.07m to build two new production lines at its cement plant in Jiangxi Province, China, which will increase the company’s output in the Jiangxi province to 12Mt.

Asia Cement president KY Lee said the company will secure new capacities in China, including the mass production of a new production line in Hubei Province in November and the addition of fifth and sixth production lines in Jiangxi Province. Including capacity of the recently acquired Wuhan, Hubei Province-based Xinlinyun Cement Corp, Asia Cement’s total annual output will reach 27Mt in Taiwan and China by 2014.

Earlier this year Asia Cement acquired 1.6% of the Shandong Province-based Sanshui Cement to raise its presence in the northern China market. Such an investment will enable Asia Cement to penetrate into Inner Mongolia, Henan and Shanxi provinces.
