Latest industry data and market estimates indicate that cement sales in Brazil for May 2009-April 2010 period reached 53.7Mt  – representing a YoY increase of 4.9 per cent.

Figures released by the Brazilian cement association, Sindicato Nacional da Indústria do Cimento, show that between January-April 2010 18.1Mt of cement was consumed, a YoY rise of 15.7 per cent compared to the same period in 2009.

In April 2010, 4.6Mt of cement was sold in the local market, up 15.9 per cent on April 2009 figure.
