Spanish cement producer Cementos Portland Valderrivas president Dieter Kiefer said yesterday that cement consumption has decreased by more than 50% due to the economic crisis and the decline in the real estate sector.

Kiefer added that he will fight to save the staff at the company’s plant in Morata de Tajuna.
