HeidelbergCement has developed a CO2 offsetting programme. The carbon neutral initiative is an easy and credible way to go beyond the emission reductions that are feasible today by supporting certified projects that have a positive impact on the climate. HeidelbergCement purchases CO2 credits to give its customers in the Benelux countries a way to “offset” the emissions related to the construction of a building or infrastructure.

Investment will be in projects, which comply with the strictest environmental standards and with a particular focus on renewable energy like wind, solar or biomass.

This offset system is the first running programme of this type within HeidelbergCement Group. It can easily be introduced to all markets of HeidelbergCement.
