Polish company Gorazdze Cement SA, part of the HeidelbergCement group, is expanding its capacity by a 30%. To this end, it is modernising its two kiln lines at a cost of around EUR129m, resulting in clinker output being raised 70 per cent and a reduction in energy being achieved.
 
Poland’s cement demand could increase to more than 20Mt from 2012.  Cement production in Jan-Feb 2010 was down 42% on a year earlier at 693,000t because of the severe winter.
