Bangladesh: Holcim to promote concept of ’Green Built’

Holcim (Bangladesh) Ltd, gathered the Jury board members and the advisory board members of "Holcim Green Built Bangladesh" contest at Gulshan Club in Dhaka recently. Rajnish Kapur, managing director, Holcim (Bangladesh) Ltd, welcomed all the board member and gave a brief of projects that have been submitted, says a press release.

"Holcim Green Built Bangladesh" contest is an initiative of Holcim (Bangladesh) Ltd, with the mission to create a culture of sustainable development by promoting the concept of "Green Built", catering to the needs of our present and future generations. It is a national level contest. The project submission ended on February 28, 2010.

The current unplanned urbanisation in the country has motivated Holcim Bangladesh to initiate such a programme so that the country can be dreamt of being a Green Country. Currently Bangladesh is under threat of pollution, natural disaster, energy shortage, uncontrollable traffic and limited natural resources. The motto of this contest is to come up with some effective projects and ideas that will lead to a planned development for the betterment of the next generations.
