Lafarge could buy more cement assets in the booming market of Brazil having recently agreed to acquire four assets from Brazilian conglomerate Votorantim, a senior Lafarge executive said.

 “We’re continuing to look at opportunities that could come up in Brazil.” vice president Jean-Carlos Angulo said in an interview. “If opportunities arise, we will look seriously at them,” he told Dow Jones Newswires.

“The country is growing so it’s very interesting,” Angulo said, adding that the Brazilian cement market could grow between 5-6 per cent this year.
