HeidelbergCement Ukraine to keep production at 1.8Mt

The HeidelbergCement Ukraine Company is intending to retain the production of cement in 2010 at the level of 2009 - 1.819Mt according to Petro Hryhorchuk, sales director of HeidelbergCement Ukraine.

"We have plans to retain the production at the level of 2009 (1.819Mt of cement)," he said.

He noted, however, that the company will be able to boost the production if the market grows.

According to Petro Hryhorchuk, the enterprise has enough capacities to boost the production of cement if necessary.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, HeidelbergCement Ukraine (Dnipropetrovsk region), one of the largest producers of cement in Ukraine, reduced cement output by 60.46% or by 2.781 million to 1.819 million tons in 2009 over 2008.

HeidelbergCement Ukraine ended 2009 with a loss of UAH 166.896 million.
